Designer Keishel Williams Launches New York Fashion Week By Channeling the Sophistication of Paris

Caribbean Designer’s new collection favors French Inspiration on the Runway

NEW YORK, NY – Monday February 14th, 2011 – Caribbean Designer, Keishel Williams presented her Fall 2011 line, A Sunday in the Park, pre-New York Fashion Week on Monday, February 7th, 2011 at 7PM. In keeping with the designer’s flair for the art and attention to mise-en-scène, the show took place in the Foley Art Gallery in Chelsea, New York.

Keishel Williams presented a collection that mirrored Parisian beauty with sophisticated and baroque designs that crosses the divide between clothes and art. Williams’ collection featured Victorian-era inspired evening gowns and tailored pieces that flatter women’s figures. It is a collection for women with artistic sensibility fitted for the mecca of elegant couture – Paris Fashion Week. Sunday in the Park was inspired by Georges-Pierre Seurat’s painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte- 1884.

The designer spoke to press about her inspiration, history as a designer, and her new line which will soon be available for purchase. Press attendees included New York Daily News, Pix 11, POSH Magazine, and the Swank Report Magazine. Respected brands such as Makari de Suisse, Soul Purpose which receives the Household Stamp of Approval from Talk Show and Entrepreneurial Mogul Oprah Winfrey, and Sonu Water were a few among the many sponsors who contributed to the success of the event.
